Our vision is of a society in which every person is granted equal and fair access to justice and is treated with dignity during and beyond incarceration.

PRIORITIES OF OUR WORK

ADVOCACY

We collaborate with local artists, academics and others to alter public perceptions and improve the self-worth of prison inmates.
We advocate for greater accountability within our criminal justice system, and for the removal of barriers to fair justice faced by those lacking in economic, educational and social resources.

LEGAL SERVICES

We increase understanding of the judicial system and individual rights, by providing high quality legal advice and representation for the socially and economically marginalized at all stages of their interaction with the criminal justice system.

QUALITY OF LIFE & VOCATION

We provide care packages containing basic requirements for a humane existence.
We endeavour to financially assist with medical support that may otherwise be inaccessible to individuals within a prison setting.

About Us…

The Fair Justice Initiative was founded by Sarah Mary Femi Asante, not long after she qualified as a legal representative in Accra, Ghana. Whilst attending court for her clients, Femi became acutely aware of the crisis in inadequate legal representation for criminal defendants.
